The Panchkosh Concept

Sapphire International School aims to cater to diverse learners to provide a supportive and enabling environment in order to ensure inclusivity, equality, equity, and accessibility for all learners by catering through all three domains – Cognitive, Affective, and Psychomotor.

Physical Well-Being
Physical Development (Sharirik Vikas) and Development of Life Energy (Pranik Vikas): Age-specific balanced physical development, physical fitness, flexibility, strength, and endurance; development of senses; nutrition, hygiene, personal health, expansion of physical abilities; Balance and retention of energy, positive energy, and enthusiasm, smooth functioning of all major systems (digestive, respiratory, circulatory, and nervous systems) by activation of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.

Intellectual Development (Bauddhik Vikas): Observation, experimentation, analytical ability, abstract and divergent thinking, synthesis, logical reasoning, linguistic skills, imagination, creativity, power of discrimination, generalization, and abstraction.
Intellectual well-being is having a sense of curiosity for what you’re learning, thinking critically and creatively, and being open to new ideas; it’s being a lifelong learner.
Intellectual well-being is fostered at Sapphire International School by challenging the learners to explore, and experiment, and treat setbacks as opportunities for growth and development. Skills that enhance reflection, self-awareness, critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, whether in the class or outside the classroom are integrated into the classroom transaction through various practices.

Concentration, peace, will and willpower, courage, handling negative emotions, developing virtues (maulyavardhan), the willingness to appreciate and participate in activities like visual and performing arts, culture, and literature.

Socio-emotional Well-Being is having self-awareness by knowing your limits, knowing when to press pause and knowing when to seek support, either from a friend or professional. Staying in tune with your emotions helps you manage stress and foster your mental health so you can bounce back from challenging moments and maintain balance. When you feel better, you perform better- not just academically, but in all areas of life.

Community is made up of the people around us; our peers, mentors, faculty, family, and colleagues. Social well-being is building and maintaining healthy relationships and having meaningful, authentic interactions with others. It is having a sense of belonging while valuing diversity. It involves communication, navigating conflict, boundary setting, and mutual respect regardless of our differences.
